Who is The Balance Base
My love for holistic therapies dates back over 20 years ago to my teenage years when I completed a holistic diploma. I've always looked for alternative ways to help myself to de-stress and relax since my younger years which have come in very handy when the stresses of adult life came into play. Navigating my way through various office jobs over the years only to find that my passion remained with complementary therapies, reflexology being the ultimate treatment because of its many benefits that exceed past the treatment itself but also how blissful I feel during the treatment is like no other! So I took the plunge in 2020 to make this wonderful treatment a career so I can help others on their wellbeing journey, plus my Grandma was a reflexologist so you could say it's in the genes!
I believe it's a skill to relax, one that often needs the help of others.

I'm fully insured and a member of the Association of Reflexologists and I trained with The Cotswold Academy.

What is reflexology
Reflexology is more than a foot massage, in fact it's not promoted as a foot massage at all as the amount of detail is far greater than a massage. The concept of reflexology dates back thousands of years but as a treatment it has been developed in the 20th century by medical practitioners and physiotherapists. The feet are divided by zones which map your entire body which within these zones are reflex points that relate to a specific structure in your body. By putting pressure on these reflex points reflexology can help to bring your body back into balance as it's working on every part of each system thus making it a truly holistic (whole body) therapy.

"If you're feeling out of kilter, don't know why or what about, let your feet reveal the answer, find the sore spot, work it out"

What to expect when you book a treatment
The Balance Base is a mobile service based in Winslow Buckinghamshire so I come to your home, office or even your garden if it's a nice enough day! When you book your first treatment time and date you'll receive an email requesting your address where the treatment will take place, access and parking to your property and completion of a consultation form so I can review beforehand then discuss in more detail with you on the day of your treatment. I need a space for a reclining chair (for you) and a stool (for me) although if you prefer to sit or recline back on your own chair or sofa that's not a problem as long as I can set up myself to perform the treatment. Set up will take around 5 minutes followed by a review of your consultation form (15-30 mins for first treatment) followed by a 1 hour treatment. Have a glass of water for yourself nearby and wear your most comfortable clothes, pajama's are highly recommended. If you like you can put on your favorite music, whatever helps you relax. Payment can be made online at time of booking or in cash/bank transfer at time of treatment. Ask me anything you are unsure of, this is your treatment so it's important to ensure you are comfortable so you get the best out of having a reflexology treatment at home.
